Drug operation nets 13 arrests |

STROUDSBURG - Thirteen) people were arrested by officers from the Monroe County Drug Task Force for various crimes after an aggressive operation known as a “Saturation Patrol” was conducted in the West End of Monroe County this past Friday evening. A saturation patrol consists of officers from multiple jurisdictions operating in a concentrated area (in this case Chestnuthill, Polk, Jackson and Ross Townships) focusing on quality of life issues (Driving Under the Influence, Careless/Reckless Driving, Disorderly Conduct and Drug Offenses to name a few). The Monroe County Office of the District Attorney operates several ‘saturation patrols’ throughout Monroe County at various times during the year through the Drug Task Force. All costs associated with the operation are covered by drug task force funds provided by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and from cash and property seizures obtained during drug arrests. During an eight hour period on Friday, August 31st 2012, three (3) people were arrested for Felony Possession With Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, four (4) people were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, five (5) people were arrested for DUI and one (1) arrest was made for Criminal Trespass. During the operation, heroin, prescription medication, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized. The following individuals were arrested:
