Convicted felon gets long prison term for weapons possession |

MILFORD - Justin King, 35, of Shohola, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 6 to 11 years and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 for the crimes of Persons not to possess a Firearm, Possessing a Firearm with Altered Numbers, and a parole violation. On March 13, 2012, King was found in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson .38 revolver with the serial number scratched off. King has a previous conviction for a Burglary which prohibits him from possessing a firearm. King was on parole at the time for previous Burglary and Theft convictions.
Several other sentences were recently issued in Pike County Court: Clinton Marsh, 36, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 9 to 24 months and ordered to pay a fine of $700 for the crimes of Theft by Unlawful Taking and False Identification to Law Enforcement. On January 30, 2012, at the Mill Rift railroad tracks in Westfall Township, Marsh took numerous railroad track connectors. Maribeth O’dea, 29, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to 3 years of probation, ordered to pay a fine of $200 and restitution of over $4,000 for the crime of False Statements Regarding Public Welfare. Between February and August of 2011, O’dea received subsidized day care benefits after she provided false information relating she was employed when in fact she was not. Marena Bush, 23, of Lackawaxen, PA was sentenced to 6 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $250 for the crime of Retail Theft. On July 20, 2011, in Westfall Township, Bush took assorted items valued at over $300 without paying the full retail value for them. Mitchell Jacobsen, 29, of Milford, PA was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crimes of Disorderly Conduct and Harassment. On September 10, 2011, in Westfall Township, Jacobsen created a serious public inconvenience by placing a mixture of toilet bowl cleaner and tin foil in a plastic bottle, which caused a chemical reaction and a loud noise. Antony Priano, 21, of Milford, PA was sentenced to 12 to 24 months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 for the crime of Burglary. On March 13, 2012, Priano entered a residence in Milford Township with the intent to commit the crime of Theft once inside. Catrina Mantz, 40, of Port Jervis, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 30 days to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On December 24, 2011, on Rt 6 & 209 in Matamoras Borough, Mantz was found to be driving under the influence. Her blood alcohol level was .125%. Billie Gushue, 51, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 1 to 4 years and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crime of Retail Theft. On April 12, 2012, in Westfall Township, Gushue took assorted items without paying the full retail value for them. Walter Corriher, 62, of Hawley, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 25 days to 12 months, ordered to pay a fine of $300 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On April 21, 2002, Corriher was found to be driving under the influence on Blooming Grove Road, in Blooming Grove Township. His blood alcohol level was .269%. Corriher failed to show for a Court appearance in 2003, and was recently arrested on a Bench Warrant. Charles Davis, 32, of Milford, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1,200 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Operating Privileges are Suspended. On February 5, 2011, in Westfall Township, Davis was found to be driving under the influence and refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the amount of alcohol on his breath. Peter Mowatt, 59, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to the Intermediate Punishment Program for 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On May 6, 2012 on SR 6 in Palmyra Township, Mowatt was found to be driving under the influence and refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the amount of alcohol on his breath. Robert Ciervo, Jr, 18 of Milford, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 50 days to 12 months followed by an additional 2 years of probation, and ordered to pay a fine of $800 for the crimes of Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Substance. |
