EAST STROUDSBURG – A routine traffic stop led to multiple drug-related charges against two suspects. While in route to a field assignment, two detectives observed a vehicle drive through an intersection failing to stop for a stop sign on Prospect Street in East Stroudsburg. The offending vehicle was pulled over.

Police detected an order of marijuana.  They say when the driver, Stephen Sparacino of East Stroudsburg, opened his window to speak with the detective, the smell of marijuana emitted from the vehicle.  Sparacino admitted that he and his passenger, Amanda Green, had just finished smoking a “blunt” (term used for a marijuana cigar).

The detectives then noticed a zip lock bag containing marijuana in plain view sitting on the rear passenger seat directly behind Green. The suspected marijuana was seized.

During a subsequent driver’s license check it was determined that Sparacino was driving on a suspended license.  he was also found to be in possession of $975.00 in US currency in small denominations.

Both individuals were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver (marijuana), criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sparacino was also charged with various traffic offenses including driving with a suspended license.

Sparacino and Green were released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
