CHESTNUTHILL TWP – A 17-year-old passenger in a car that was drag racing on Jonas Road Sunday is in the hospital with head injuries.  The driver, another 17-year-old is likely to face multiple charges.

The incident happened shortly after noon on Sunday.  Police say two cars were racing, in both lanes of the road, when a third vehicle appeared, coming from the opposite direction.  The oncoming driver, seeing the approaching drag racer in his lane, swerved.  The drag racer also swerved, but lost control, impacting a wooden fence. 

A fence post entered a rear window, striking the passenger in the head.  The injured passenger was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
