Kunkletown man charged with promoting prostitution

SMITHFIEL.D TWP – A Lehigh County man was arrested and charged by detectives from the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney following an undercover sex sting.

Phillip Londono, 40, of Slatington, is accused of offering to pay to have sex with an 11-year-old girl.

Earlier this month, detectives arrested a prostitute in an unrelated investigation at a Smithfield Township hotel.  Following her arrest, the woman told detectives that she had been contacted by an unknown man who offered to pay her to find him a young girl to have sex with, specifically stating that he was interested in a child around ten years old.  Investigators found evidence of this conversation in the woman’s cell phone and were able to identify the man as Londono.

Detectives posing as the original prostitute, continued the conversation with Londono, stating that they had found a woman who was willing to allow him to have sex with the woman’s daughter in exchange for $400.  The detectives began communicating with Londono while posing as the mother of the child.   Londono said would pay her $100 every week to have the girl perform oral sex on him.

When Londono arrived at the meeting, he was apprehended by investigators.

Londono was charged with several crimes, including attempted rape of a child, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child,  attempted trafficking in minors, soliciting sexual exploitation of children, and related charges.  In total, he faces 13 felonies. He was lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

There was no actual mother or child involved.
