PennDOT details 2007 construction season work

DUNMORE - PennDOT District 4 completed approximately $85,053,389 in improvements to state roads and bridges in 2007.
The following are highlights of PennDOT District 4’s 2007 construction projects in Lackawanna, Luzerne Wayne, Wyoming, Pike and Susquehanna counties:
• $35 million in interstate bridge improvement work.
• $3.5 million in interstate paving.
• $36 million in June 2006 flood reconstruction work.
• $30 million in paving of more than 235 miles of state roads (not including interstates).

PIKE COUNTY: Projects completed in 2007 totaling $14,757,166:
• $9.38 million replacement of the Shohola-Barryville Bridge over the Delaware River
• $4.7 million (1-year’s cost) for a 2-season bridge preservation project which includes 29 structures in Lackawanna and Pike counties, between Exit 4 (the I-84/I-380 split) and Exit 53 (Matamoras)
• $592,764 Milford Home Town Streets Project. Phase 6 includes bluestone sidewalks, pedestrian lights, benches, shade trees and other landscaping.
• $84,402 Route 1011, Pond Eddy Bridge emergency maintenance repairs.

WAYNE COUNTY: Projects completed in 2007 totaling $13,036,262
• $3,367,775 for emergency replacements of the Route 170 bridge over the Lackawaxen River as well as the Route 247 bridge.
• $2,561,103 for the replacement of the Route 191 Shehawken Creek Bridge, damaged by the 2006 flood.
• $2,394,731 for the replacement of the Route 191 Haggs Mill Bridge over Mill Creek, Dreher Township.
• $1,917,316 to replace the Route 4008 Howell Pond Rd. bridge, Mt. Pleasant Township, and the Route 4024 bridge damaged by the 2006 flood.
• $1,585,938 to replace the Route 4020 Shehawken Creek Bridge, Buckingham Twp. damaged by the 2006 flood.
• $725,197 pre-cast bridge parapet replacements on Routes 191, 507 and 3041, Cherry Ridge, Texas and Lehigh townships.
• $484,202 to replace the Route 1023 bridge, Manchester Township, damaged by the 2006 flood.
WYOMING COUNTY: Projects completed in 2007 totaling $6,631,587
• $3,154,044 to repair the Route 29 bridge and the Route 92 bridge damaged by the 2006 floods.
• $1,185,250 to replace the Route 92 Exeter Township Bridge.
• $501,253 to repair the Route 2018 Leonard’s Creek Bridge.
• $1.1 million for preservation of the Route 87 bridge over the Susquehanna at Mehoopany. Work on contract totaling $2.3 million continues in 2008.
• $391,040 to rehabilitate the Route 2007, Bowman’s Creek Bridge. 68826
