LEHMAN TOWNSHIP – Investigators may never know the exact cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Pocono Ranchland. The damage was too extensive. The fire does not, however, appear suspicious. Two teens, a brother and sister, were in the house. Only one made it out. The older girl discovered the fire, about 9:30 Monday night. She escaped by jumping from the second floor. Her brother, Anthony White, 13, did not. His body was discovered in the burned out ruins. White was a well-liked student at the Beacon School, an alternative school in Shawnee-on-Delaware. He and his sister reportedly spent long periods alone in the home on Doe Loop in Pocono Ranchlands. The parents worked out of the area. Authorities have not released the name of the adults. |
