BLOOMING GROVE – State Police plan checkpoints and roving patrols throughout the weekend in Pike County, as part of an ongoing effort to crack down on driving under the influence.  Police will be targeting, in particular, roads that have seen a high incidence of DUI and DWI arrests and accidents.

Penalties for a first DUI offence range from a $300 fine and six months of probation.  A second offence in a ten-year period is a felony and can result in a $5,000 fine and up to five eyars in prison.
