Couple charged with growing pot in child’s bedroom

TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP – Two adults are under arrest; a three-year-old is in protective custody, after a drug bust Wednesday morning.  The arrests follow a six-month undercover investigation.

Police arrested William Hale, 34, and his girlfriend, Kristi Capria, 23, both of Pocono Lake.  The are accused of running a marijuana operation that included plants hanging over the child’s bed. 

Police found more than 100 plants and about ten pounds of harvested pot.  Total estimated street value of all the marijuana is about $150,000.

Hale and Capria are in the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each.  The face a long list of charges including manufacturing a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Capria’s child is in protective custody.
