JACKSON TOWNSHIP – An elderly woman died in a house fire on Neola Church Road Monday afternoon.  Authorities say it appears Norma Sallade, 77, may have been smoking and that likely caused the fire.

Sallade was found on a couch, alone in the home.

An autopsy is planned.
