PARADISE TOWNSHIP – A British citizen, vacationing in the Poconos, apparently drowned while fishing in Swiftwater Lake, Thursday afternoon.  The name of the 24-year-old victim, staying with friends in the area, has not been released.

Police say the man told friends early Thursday afternoon he was going fishing.  The friends found the body in the lake, about 50 feet from the boat.  The victim was dressed for swimming, and reportedly was a good swimmer.

There is no indication, yet, as to what may have happened.  There were no apparent injuries, and no indication, at this point, of drugs or alcohol.

An autopsy is to be performed Friday.
