Race rained out

LONG POND – They weren’t even told to ‘start your engines’.  The Pennsylvania 500 was a washout Sunday and will be run at noon Monday.

The rainout was expected.

There was some hope when the sun briefly appeared about an hour before the scheduled 2 p.m. start.  The drivers were introduced.  But, the track was still drenched and the rain returned shortly after 3 p.m..

Race officials decided on a postponement shortly after 4 p.m.
