HONESDALE – All but one of the dozen or so people picked to ask questions during Rep. Chris Carney’s hour-long ‘listening tour’ session in Honesdale had one topic on mind … health care.

The one off-topic question came from a woman concerned about natural gas drilling, who claimed, among other things, that where there is fracking, out in Colorado, there are “no live births of livestock”, people are getting “brain tumors” and tap water is “catching fire”.

Carney said he generally supports natural gas exploration, with sufficient safeguards in place, a sentiment that seemed to resonate with most of the 300 in the audience, who wanted the discussion to get back to health care.
