LEHMAN TOWNSHIP - President-elect Obama has announced that Monday, January 19, will be a
national day of service, coinciding with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.  As a member of the No Child Left Inside Coalition, the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in Dingmans Ferry is taking advantage of this opportunity to hold a Special Day of Service on this day.

Volunteers will help the PEEC staff manage the outdoor bird habitats in and around the Center’s campus. Then follow up the morning of service with coffee, hot chocolate and tea.

PEEC would not be the institution it is today without the help of its core of dedicated volunteers, so come out, help out, and have fun! This special volunteer day will begin at 9:00 am in PEEC’s main building and will end at Noon.  For more information on PEEC’s Special Day of Service, call (570) 828-2319 or email peec@peec.org.

PEEC’s mission is to enhance environmental awareness, knowledge and appreciation through hands-on experience in a natural outdoor classroom. For more information on PEEC’s programs, visit www.peec.org.
