Closed door court hearing held in DeNaples case

HARRISBURG – Witnesses, including current and former employees of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board appeared at a confidential hearing on whether there were leaks of confidential grand jury information.  One outcome of the hearing, in Dauphin County Court, could be whether to appoint a special prosecutor.

Also scheduled to appear are 15 journalists from news organizations that covered the grand jury proceedings that earlier this year charged Mount Airy Casino Owner Louis DeNaples with perjury for allegedly lying to the GCB about alleged ties to organized crime figures, during hearings led to the awarding, two years ago, of a casino license to DeNaples.
