Route 739 resurfacing contract awarded

DUNMORE– PennDOT Engineering District 4 announced today that a contract has been awarded for resurfacing in Pike County. The project is financed by federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

A $528,419 contract for resurfacing Route 739 in Blooming Grove and Shohola townships, Pike County was awarded to Leeward Construction of Jessup, Lackawanna County. Work includes milling and paving, guiderail replacement, line-painting and application of pavement markings.

Within the six-county region of northeastern Pennsylvania, PennDOT will invest $72 million of federal economic recovery funds on 17 transportation projects, which include road and bridge improvements and curb ramp replacements.
