Kanjorski pushes bill to extend funding for local National Heritage Corridor |

WASHINGTON – Congressman Paul Kanjorski (PA-11) testified before the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands at a hearing on Congressman Kanjorski’s H.R. 3809, which he introduced on October 15, 2007. H.R. 3809 would extend funding for the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor until fiscal year 2012 enabling the completion of important projects for Northeastern Pennsylvania. “Since its creation, the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Commission has completed many projects in my Congressional District, and it is important that we ensure that more projects are also achieved,” said Kanjorski. The purpose Corridor is to conserve cultural and natural resources in the five-county region of Pennsylvania, including Luzerne and Carbon counties. Since its establishment, the Corridor has completed many projects benefiting the area.
