PARADISE TOWNSHIP – Mount Airy Casino Resort resumed normal operations again Monday after a power outage forced the temporary closure of the hotel and casino Saturday night. Full power to the resort was restored on Sunday at about noon and the casino, hotel, and restaurants are fully operating Monday. Mount Airy Casino Resort experienced a power outage beginning Saturday evening at about 6:30 pm due to a severe thunderstorm.. At about 10:00 pm, after repeated unsuccessful attempts by the utility company PP&L to restore power, the management of the casino resort made the decision to close the casino and hotel for the safety and security of its guests. Mount Airy Casino Resort assisted hotel guests with finding alternative hotel accommodations and the casino resort incurred the costs for those accommodated. The casino portion of the resort reopened at 12:00 noon on Sunday and limited food service was available to guests. By Sunday evening, the hotel portion of the resort was also fully up and running and accommodated about 80 guests. All aspects of the casino resort have now returned to normal operations.
