Drowning in Delaware

WESTFALL TOWNSHIP – A Westtown NY  man drowned in the Delaware River Saturday.
Serge Bien-Amie, 25, wading across the river with a friend, near Eddy Farm, on the New York side, across from Mill Rift..

Bien-Amie lost his footing and both men were swept into deeper water. The friend attempted to help Bien-Amie, who was a poor swimmer, but became exhausted and had to swim to shore and call for help, police said Monday.

Bien-Amie was located about 15 minutes later in the water by the Westfall, PA Fire Department. He was transported to Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
