Mount Airy to close for generator upgrade

PARADISE TOWNSHIP – Mount Airy Casino Resort announced today that the casino will close at 12 midnight Thursday and reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday morning to accommodate a power generator upgrade.  Any patrons on the casino floor prior to 12 midnight will be permitted to stay until 1:30 a.m.

The generator upgrade will address issues related to the power outage caused by an electrical storm Saturday evening.  Complications in restoring power prompted management of the casino resort to close the casino and hotel for the safety and security of its guests and employees.  The casino and hotel portions of the resort reopened at 12 noon Sunday.   All aspects of the casino resort have returned to normal operations.

“These upgrades to the generators should provide us with the appropriate back up systems to enable the casino and resort to remain in operation during future power outages,” said Joe D’Amato, Chief Executive Officer of Mount Airy Casino Resort.
