Dirt biker injured in hit-and-run accident

The 'open house' did not include a formal presentation. Visitors could look at
displays and ask questions.

Map shows the two routes that would pass through Wayne and Pike counties.
The routes are unified until they reach Lake Wallenpaupack, then split.
Route A would use about 60 percent existing right-of-way.  Route B
would include more than 90 percent existing right-of-way.

DELAWARE TOWNSHIP – A Dingmans Ferry man sustained several broken bones after he was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign.  Nicholas Matott, 19, was on a dirt bike, wearing a helmet, and was stopped at a stop sign, in Birchwood Lakes, about 10:30 Tuesday evening, when another vehicle failed to stop, striking the bike.

The second vehicle fled without stopping.  Little information is available about that vehicle.

Anyone who may have seen anything is asked to contact state police at 570-228-5718.
