Bar stabbing – victim in surgery, suspect in jail

Mr. Spanky's, known under various names over the past several years, was the
scene of a stabbing shortly after Midnight Wednesday morning

DINGMAN TOWNSHIP – Steven Krause, of Matamoras, apparently became upset when the bartender announced last call at Mr. Spanky’s, on Route 6 outside Milford, about 12:30  Wednesday morning. Krause allegedly spit a mouthful of beer at the waitress.

Sean Conklin, 28, of Port Jervis NY, tried to calm Krause down.  That dispute went outside where Krause allegedly stabbed Conklin, perforating his intestine.

Conklin was rushed to Mercy Community Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

Krause, 46, was later apprehended at his home.  He is in the Pike County Jail, in lieu of $25,000 bail, charged with aggrevated assault.
