Fisher wins draw, will be on both DVSB ballot lines |

MILFORD – A ‘casting of lots’ was held at the Pike County administration building, and the result is Jack Fisher will be on both the Republican and Democrat general election ballot lines for Delaware Valley School Board. Fisher and Ed Silverstone officially finished in a tie for the final Republican line spot on primary day. State law mandates choosing the candidate by a ‘casting of lots’. The precise method is up to the local jurisdiction. That was done at noon Thursday. Another candidate, Bill Greenlaw, stood in for Fisher, as a proxy. Silverstone and Greenlaw first drew straws to determine who would be the first to draw a numbered ball from a hat. Greenlaw drew #1, giving Fisher the Republican line, and leaving Silverstone off the November general election ballot. Fisher, Pam Lutfy and Susan Schor will be on both lines. Rounding out the Republican line will be Bob Goldsack. Bill Grenlaw holds the fourth spot on the Democrat line. Goldsack was kicked off the Democrat line, prior to the primary, because of petition irregularities. Goldsack, Lutfy, Schor and Silverstone are incumbents. Fisher is a former board member. There was also a contest for a two-year term. Former board member Charles Pike is apparently assured of that seat after winning both lines in the primary. |
