Thousands remember Trooper Miller |

PITTSTON – Hundreds of law enforcement officers from many states throughout the northeast were among those who came to pay respects fallen officer Joshua Miller of the Swiftwater barracks. A viewing began at 1 Thursday afternoon, at Pittston Area High School, Miller’s alma mater. The funeral will be in the football stadium at 11 Friday morning. Following the funeral, a procession will head to Laceyville, for a private burial. Miller, a few days short of his 35th birthday, died last Sunday, attempting to rescue a nine-year-old boy who had been kidnapped by his father. Another trooper was founded. The father died in the exchange of bullets on Route 611 in Tobyhanna.
