Thousands remember Trooper Miller

Miller

PITTSTON – Hundreds of law enforcement officers from many states throughout the northeast were among those who came to pay respects fallen officer Joshua Miller of the Swiftwater barracks.  A viewing began at 1 Thursday afternoon, at Pittston Area High School, Miller’s alma mater.

The funeral will be in the football stadium at 11 Friday morning.

Following the funeral, a procession will head to Laceyville, for a private burial.

Miller, a few days short of his 35th birthday, died last Sunday, attempting to rescue a nine-year-old boy who had been kidnapped by his father.  Another trooper was founded.  The father died in the exchange of bullets on Route 611 in Tobyhanna.
