Monroe County swine flu count continues to grow

HARRISBURG – There are now 43 confirmed or probable cases of swine flu in Monroe County, and that, reportedly, is among the highest per capita rates in the state.  That number includes 29 confirmed cases, according to numbers released by the state Department of Health, Thursday..

Pike County has three cases.  There are still no cases in Wayne County.

The symptoms of 2009 Novel Influenza A (H1N1) flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting.

Most cases are described as mild, with full recovery within a few days.
