Pike recycling a success

TVs, computers, vacuum cleaners were part of the collection

DINGMAN TOWNSHIP – More than 100 Pike County residents unloaded a variety of electronic items Saturday, at the Dingman Township garage.  Items ranged from old TVs and computers to vacuum cleaners.

County Human Development Director Christine Obser said the turnout Saturday morning was about what they expected, and people came from throughout the county.  This year, the fee was $10 per carload.

The recycling is an annual event and is held in a different location each year.

The Port Jervis branch of Advanced Recovery, Inc., handles the collection.  The company breaks down the items for either recycling or proper environmental disposal.
