Pike County woman dead, tested positive for swine flu

PORT JERVIS  NY- A 48-year-old Pike County woman, who was brought to Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis NY Friday, has died and Orange County Health officials said it appears she had swine flu.

Orange County spokesman Richard Mayfield said the woman, who had an underlying health condition, was brought to the hospital for treatment.

She succumbed to her illnesses on Sunday, he said.

The name of the woman has not been released.

Pennsylvania state health officials say as of today, there are four confirmed and two probable cases of swine flu in Pike County.  Wayne County has its first probable case.  Monroe County has 71 cases today, including 34 confirmed and 37 probable.
