JACKSON TOWNSHIP – An argument over a girlfriend allegedly lead to a family murder in Jackson township, Sunday.  Bernard Uckele, 62, is charged with shooting his son, Justin, 19.

Police were called to the uckele home at 8902 Adams Drive about 12:45 p.m.  When they got there, they f9ound Justin dead in the garage. 

The shooting apparently happened several hours earlier and may have be3en precipitated by an argument involving the son’s girlfriend and his sister.  The son reportedly returned home to find the dispute underway.  Things escalated from there. 

Bernard had left the home by then, but was picked up after a short chase on Route 115.  He was arraigned on a charge of murder and is in the Monroe County jail without bail.
