COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP – A man, doing yard work near the curb, was struck and killed by a passing SUV, on Route 196, Tuesday afternoon.  Police identify the victim as Robert Apuzzi, 49, who was working near the curb.  His house is behind his auto repair business.

The accident happened just before 3:30, near Old Post Road.  Police say it appears the woman driving the SUV, veered off the road, striking the man, who was dead at the scene when police and emergency crews arrived.

The driver of the SUV stopped.  She was taken to Pocono Medical Center for blood tests and any possible treatment she may have needed. 

No charges have been filed, at this time.  The investigation is ongoing.
