Police investigating phone scam

SHOHOLA TOWNSHIP – Some Pike County residents report receiving phone calls claiming to be from a bank and seeking account verification information.  The scam is similar to one very common on the internet.

State Police say the incident is a reminder that scams can come in any form and that people should never respond to requests for detailed personal information, especially social security numbers, and bank account and PIN.  Legitimate institutions never ask for that information.
