Mortgage counseling session planned

MILFORD - A recent news article reported that in 2008 there were 864 filings for foreclosure in Pike County and this was an increase of 20 percent compared to 2007. The number of foreclosures and levies continue to rise in Pike County and all across the country. 

Local agencies and non-profit organizations are hosting a free seminar to help homeowners having trouble with their mortgage or in fear of foreclosure.  The same seminar will be held on two dates: Thursday, March 19 from 7PM-9PM or Friday, March 27 from 12PM-2PM in the Commissioners’ Conference Room in the Pike County Administration Building in Milford, PA. 

This informative seminar is sponsored by: the Pike County Commissioners/Human Development, Delaware Valley School District, NorthPenn Legal Services, Neighborhood Housing Service of Lackawanna County, and the United Way of Pike County.
