MILFORD - The Pike County Public Library will receive $95,000 through the U.S. Department of Labor, Health and Human Services’ Institute of Museum and Library Services account for the construction of the new Dorothy E. Warner Library Headquarters and Community Center.  The funds will be used for building construction, scheduled to begin in 2010.

Rep. Chris Carney (D-10) helped obtain the funding.

“As a former educator, I know the importance of our public libraries and what a significant difference this funding will make,” states Carney.

Barbara Buchanan, President Emeritus of the PCPL, said, “Congressman Carney, on his frequent visits, has always shown a genuine interest in the needs of Pike County.  The Pike County Public Library is most grateful to him for this very generous appropriation.”

“We are extremely grateful to Congressman Carney and his staff for bringing Federal dollars into our county for this important project”, said Jenni Hamill, Chair of Fundraising and Governmental Affairs for the PCPL Building Committee.
