LEHMAN TOWNSHIP – A teenage boy is dead after fire destroyed a home in Pocono Ranchlands Monday night. An older sister, who discovered the fire, escaped by jumping from the second floor. Authorities identified the victim as Anthony White, 13, a seventh grade student at the Beacon School, an alternative school in Shawnee-on-Delaware. The body of the victim was removed from the remains of the home about 1:30 this morning, five hours after the fire was reported. Four people reportedly lived in the home, but only the two teens were home at the time. The fire was reported about 8:30, in the home on Doe Loop. Firefighters say the home was fully involved by the time they got there. They had the blaze under control in about half an hour. There is indication what caused the fire. |
