Pocono Township – Passing in a no-passing zone on a curve proved deadly for a young driver Thursday afternoon.  Police identified the victim as Daniel Coombe, 19, of Mountainhome.

The accident happened on Swiftwater Road, near Pocono Mountain East High School, shortly after 4 pm, as students were leaving the school. 

Police say Coombe, in a pickup, was apparently traveling at high speed when he attempted the illegal pass.  He overcorrected, and spun into an oncoming school bus. 

The pickup driver was dead at the scene.

The driver of the bus, which was empty at the time, sustained a leg injury.
