Monroe County man held in shooting |

TOWAMENSING TWP – A Brodheadsville man is being held in lieu of $1 million bail after shooting another man in the face in Carbon County. Brian Hines, 35, is charged with attempted murder, following the incident early Monday evening. Police were called to a location off Lower Smith Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township, near the home of the victim. Hines, with his girlfriend in the car, drove past the home of Gary Hoffer, who saw the car go by. Hoffer and a friend, then followed, stopping near Hines’ vehicle. The two then got into an argument. Hines pulled a pistol and shot Hoffer in the face. Hoffer reportedly underwent surgery at an area hospital, but information on which hospital and Hoffer’s condition has not been released. |
