EAST STROUDSBURG – A man, already in trouble for an incident two months ago, is back in trouble again, for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a motel in East Stroudsburg.  Mark McGurk, 31, was arrested Thursday after he called the hotel from a phone near the Wal-Mart and police were able to trace the location.

Policw were first called to the motel after getting a report of the assault on the woman.  The victim, 25 years old, claims McGurk tried to chock and stab her, then chased her with a gun.

Police say he was so high on drugs at the time he could not be arraigned on several charges, including aggravated and simple assault. 

McGurk is awaiting trial for a seven-hour standoff, with police, on August 5.
