STROUDSBURG – Fritz Dejoie will spend 17 to 40 years in prison for shooting Ste4ven Santillo to death, 16 months ago.  Dejoie, 22, was sentenced in Monroe County Court, for his guilty plea to third degree murder.

Both Dejoie, 22, and Santillo, 47, are from Blakeslee.  They had met in a remote part of Chestnuthill Township, where the shooting took place, July 10, 2008. 

Prosecutors say Santillo owed Dejoie money for drug transactions, a claim the defense had challenged.  Defense attorneys also said the shooting was in self-defense, but invedstigators said the evidence showed otherwise.
