EAST STROUDSBURG - The Student Senate at East Stroudsburg University is hosting its annual “Teddy Bear Drive” to benefit families in need this holiday season. The Student Senate is requesting donations of new and unwrapped children’s toys to be shared with children during their annual holiday party for those less fortunate. Donations may be dropped off at the Student Senate Office, Room 219 of the University Center between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. “This event allows the ESU community to reach out to young members in our local community and provide these children with some great holiday cheer,” said Emily Ward, vice president for ESU’s Student Senate and a 2011 sociology, Spanish, and political science major from Allentown, Pa. According to Ward, ESU’s Student Senate will partner with the Salvation Army Food Pantry to identify families for the event and to make this non-profit holiday party possible. The Student Senate has been receiving donations from many different organizations as well as members of the community.
