COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP – Police charged Luis Velez, Jr., 44, with violating a protection order that prohibits any contact with his wife. 

Police was spotted early Monday morning, pushing an electric scooter up Route 196.  Police questioned Velez, who said he had gone to the store for cigarettes and was heading back to his home on Knollwood Drive in Pocono Country Place. 

A routine check revealed the protection order.  Further investigation revealed that the order not only prohibited contact with his wife, but in essence, evicted Velez from the home.

Velez was arrested without incident.
