Delaware Township – A New York resident is in custody, charged with robbing a Route 739 beverage store at knifepoint.  The robbery happened about 7:40 Saturday evening.

Police say the masked suspect entered the Pike County Beverage Store, displayed a knife and demanded cash.  He was given some money, then fled in an older vehicle. 

A witness saw the masked man enter the store, and was able to cope the license number off the vehicle.  Based on the information, police were able to trace the vehicle, and suspect to the Port Jervis, NY area.

Port Jervis Police spotted the vehicle, stopped it, then arrested Anthony Montaperto, 22, of Sparrowbush.  He was initially picked up on an outstanding warrant from New York, but authorities plan on seeking extradition of Montaperto to Pennsylvania.
