Statewide – Pennsylvanians hoping to use the holiday to do some early prep for hunting season by buying a new gun are out of luck.  A three-day suspension of all gun sales began, as scheduled, Sunday night, to allow state officials to upgrade the computer system used for background checks.

The system is expected to remain offline until late Wednesday.

Gun dealers and many state lawmakers had objected to the timing of the suspension
