Monroe prison gets interim warden

The Monroe County Prison Board unanimously named veteran prison administrator David Kessling as interim warden, beginning Monday.

Kessling succeeds David Keenhold, who left the job Friday.

Keenhold announced in May that he would leave by the end of the year, but recently told the county he had received anoffer elsewhere wne wanted to leave sooner.

Kessling, an administrator with the state Department of Corrections, was recommended, by that agency, for the interim post, which will give Monroe County time to search for a permanent warden.
