Stroudsburg – Opening statements were heard Tuesday in the attempted murder trial of a Long Pond man, accused of shaking his two-month-old son, and slamming him on a hard floor.

Vincent Bucello, 21, is on trial in Monroe County Court for what happened in May, 2006.  His defense attorneys plan to argue that the injuries to the infant were caused by the mother’s actions.

Amber Miller, 20, the mother, also faces charges of putting the child in danger.

A forensic child abuse expert who examined the Anthony found injuries consistent with child abuse, including brain hemorrhages and fractures of the skull, ribs and leg.
