Father convicted of infant abuse

Stroudsburg – Vincent Bucello faces up to ten years in prison after a jury found him guilty seriously injuring his two-month-old son.  The jury, in Stroudsburg, convicted Bucello, 21, of aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering a child.  A charge of attempted murder was removed by the judge before the jury got the case.

Bucello was charged after investigators found significant evidence of severe abuse in May, 2006.  The injuries to the infant, now a year old, included a fractured skull and other broken bones.

Bucello’s defense tried to pin the abuse on the child’s mother.

Sentencing is set for November 5.  Bucello is back in jail after his bail was increased from $50,000 to $100,000
