Greene Township – Long-time Township Supervisor Thomas Hettes died Wednesday night, reportedly in an equipment accident.  Details of the accident are not available.

Hettes was 53, and had served as supervisor for a decade.  He also served with the Planning Commission 

He was also a 17-year member and past president of the fire department.

Hettes is ervuved by his wife, Darline, a daughter, a stepdaughter and two stepsons.

Services are scheduled for Sunday, 3 p.m. at Hemlock GRove United Methodist Church.  Visitation is Saturday, 2-4 and 6:30-8:30, at the Frey Funeral Home, Rt. 191 in South Sterling.
