SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP – A neurologist with an office on Route 447 is facing a long list of insurance fraud allegations.  Dr. Matt Vegari is alleged to have billed at least 75 patients for sevices never rendered.  The allegations date back to 2004.

Vegari turned hmself into authorities Wednesday afternoon, after officers with the Northeast Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Task Force raided his office earlier in the day.

Vegari is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, and has no record of disciplinary action.
