MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP – Some 440 feet of telephone line was removed from poles on Route 209 near Caesar’s Pocono Palace, about 9:30 Thursday evening. 

Thieves had to climb three poles to cut the live lines.  The line weighted about 1,000 pounds.
