HONESDALE - The Lake Region of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains is the starting point for a round-trip train ride filled with old-fashioned family fun, music and singing.  It is the Stourbridge Line Rail Excursion, and this fall it chugs along the spectacular Wayne County countryside for four separate themed rides.  Enjoy the beauty of Autumn and its radiant reds, glorious golds and burnished bronzes, all reflected trackside in the shimmering waters of the Lackawaxen River.

Fall Foliage train rides depart from the Wayne County Visitor Center in historic Honesdale at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM on October 12, 18, 19 and 25.  Reservations are required for this 4 1/2 hour ride, which includes a 1 1/2 hour stopover in the Victorian village of Lackawaxen.  While in Lackawaxen, our shuttle bus will take you to the Zane Grey Museum and the Roebling Aqueduct Suspension Bridge.  Tickets are $27 for adults; $26 for seniors and $17 for children 12 & under.

Honesdale Harvest & Heritage Days ride departs from the train station on Main Avenue in downtown Hawley at 11 AM on Saturday, October 11th.  Climb on board for a day filled with fun as we head for our destination of historic Honesdale.  Join us as Honesdale kicks off the harvest season and celebrates this wonderful time of year!  Reservations are required for this 5 hour round-trip excursion, which includes the 3 hour stop-over in Honesdale.  Tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for children 12 & under.  Children ages 2 & under, if lap held, are always free!

The Stourbridge Line Rail Excursions have been in operation for the past 29 years.  For information or details on any of these or other train rides, please call the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at (800) 433-9008or (570) 253-1960.  Or visit their website at www.waynecountycc.com.  The Stourbridge Line is owned and operated by the chamber.
